This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Brompton Man and Van has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to conduct business ethically and transparently and to safeguard the welfare and dignity of every individual connected to our services.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Brompton Man and Van has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, servitude and debt bondage. We are committed to acting with integrity in all relationships and to implementing systems and controls designed to ensure that modern slavery does not take place in any part of our business or our supply chains.
All employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment. Any breach of this policy by staff may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract. Any supplier found to be involved in modern slavery, or unwilling to address reasonable concerns, may have its relationship with Brompton Man and Van reviewed and potentially terminated.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Brompton Man and Van provides man and van, removals, and related transport and logistics services. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment providers, fuel and maintenance services, subcontracted drivers and porters, uniform and consumables suppliers, and certain administrative and technology service providers.
We recognise that some of these areas, particularly the use of subcontracted labour and overseas manufactured goods, may present a higher inherent risk of labour exploitation. We are therefore focused on identifying and reducing these risks through active engagement and oversight.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and subcontractors that share our values and can demonstrate compliance with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. As part of our onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we seek assurances from suppliers regarding their own modern slavery policies, practices and due diligence.
Where appropriate, we may carry out supplier audits or request evidence of compliance, such as written policies, training records or relevant certifications. These audits may be conducted directly by Brompton Man and Van or through trusted third parties. If an audit identifies areas of concern, we will seek corrective action within a reasonable timeframe and monitor progress. Failure to implement satisfactory improvements may result in suspension or termination of the supplier relationship.
Training, Awareness and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach rests with the senior management of Brompton Man and Van. Managers are expected to promote the policy, assess risks in their areas of responsibility and ensure that any concerns are fully investigated.
We provide appropriate guidance and awareness-raising for employees whose roles expose them to higher risks, such as those involved in procurement, subcontractor management and recruitment. This includes information on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding reporting routes and the consequences of non-compliance.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Brompton Man and Van encourages a culture of openness where concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, workers, suppliers and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicion or knowledge of modern slavery in our business or supply chains as soon as possible.
Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or via established whistleblowing procedures. All reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively and, where possible, kept confidential. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from any form of detrimental treatment. Where allegations are substantiated, we will take prompt and appropriate action, which may include notifying relevant authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Brompton Man and Van is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We regularly monitor legal developments, best practice guidance and the evolving risk landscape in our sector to refine our policies and processes.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains appropriate to the size and nature of our operations. The review will consider any incidents reported, audit findings, feedback from stakeholders and changes in our supply chains. Updated statements will be published to reflect any significant changes in our approach or commitments.
This statement has been approved by the management of Brompton Man and Van and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting human rights throughout our business and supply chains.
